Lyt Is Open
Announcement · Jun 27, 2026Make your agents better. Get Lyt.
Lyt (Link Your Think) gives your AI agents a memory they can trust: your own markdown, owned and structured, read as one pod. You install the CLI, and your agents become first-class operators of everything you know.
You mint vaults you own and weave them into meshes to group them. Share any vault you want. The whole is your pod. A vault is a git repo that holds one or more folders of markdown. Your agents search the whole pod at once, and every result comes stamped with the vault and commit it came from. You keep the markdown. Lyt is the thin layer over it. It never moves your notes into a database, and it never phones home. Search runs on your machine, the optional local embedding model included. Nothing leaves.
Your secrets stay yours. Every vault is private by default. Share a vault with named people, read-only or read-and-write, over plain GitHub access. Or gather vaults into a public mesh that anyone can subscribe to: documentation, research, academia, news, a community's shared knowledge. Publishers never see who subscribes, and publishing costs nothing: a public mesh is a public GitHub repo, and GitHub serves it to every reader for free, at the scale they bring.
An agent can do exactly what you can, and never more: a vault read-only to you is read-only to your agent. Automators take this further. An automator is a versioned YON file in the vault that declares a task once and runs it the same way every time. People and their agents then coordinate across the same vaults: your own, your team's, the ones you follow. That is multi-agent work, controlled by people, over knowledge they are allowed to touch.
Your agents drive Lyt two ways: from the command line, the same verbs you use, or over an MCP server. The command line is the better path. MCP is there too, and it is what most agents reach for. Over MCP, where other tools hand an agent many servers to wire up, one per source, Lyt gives it a single local endpoint for your whole pod, provenance on every answer.
Keep anything in it: code notes, research, the news you follow. Open any vault in Obsidian, VS Code, or your terminal. It is free and Apache-2.0. No quotas, ever.
Its vaults, meshes, and automators are YON (YounndAI Object Notation) files, the structured text your agents read directly.
Mint your first vault and forge your pod.
